Lack of parking places and traffic congestion are traditonally annoying problem of all metropolises. Belgrade is not exception to the rule and this fact is confirmed by the Study of parking features carried out by Traffic University Institute.

Managing, exploitation and maintenance of 33.800 parking places, at public car parks and garages at 10 city municipalities of Belgrade, were given to Public utility company “Parking servis”.

Dividing the city centre into the zones with a time limit the parking time at more than 22.500 parking places is limited to 60 minutes in the first (red) zone, 120 min in the second (yellow) and 180 min in the third (green). Charging of fee for using a public car park is conducted between 07.00 to 21.00 during the weekday and from 07. to 14.00 on Saturday.After the parking time expires, the client cannot park the car in the same zone in the next 30 minutes.

Several streets in Zemun, New Belgrade and some streets in the city centre are marked as a zone without a time limit. Adriver is enable to pay for the parking as many hours as they wish. Parking is charged per hour or by buying a several hours parking ticket.

More than 11.300 places are found in 8 multilevel garages and 20 car parks. Parking is charged per hour or by buying a monthly parking ticket.
